At Redgate Primary Academy, we recently had an exciting week filled with creativity and imagination as we took part in this year’s Big Draw event. We were thrilled to welcome local artist Lawrence English, who joined us to inspire and support our pupils in their artistic journey.

This year’s theme, drawing in motion, encouraged the children to explore movement and energy through different drawing techniques, tools, and materials. Every pupil had the opportunity to get involved, working at their own pace and skill level to create unique and expressive artwork.

A standout moment of the week was when Lawrence introduced the pupils to a Zoetrope—a traditional animation device that brought their drawings to life. Watching their creations move was an exciting and magical experience that sparked curiosity and enthusiasm among the children.

A huge well done to all our pupils for their fantastic efforts. It was a wonderful week of creativity, learning, and fun. We look forward to more inspiring activities in the future.
